For some reason people feel as though massage therapy is a luxury. This is surprising considering all of the affordable massage services that have sprung throughout the country over the years. Access to massage therapy has become open to every budget. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

What is massage?

Massage is the application of soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation. The many variations of massage account for several different techniques.

Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating the skin, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Depending on the massage therapist, massages may be performed using their hands, fingers, forearms, elbows, and even feet! Your treatment can range from light stroking to deep pressure depending on the technique.

Here at KLARA Beauty Lab…

We customize every treatment, including our massage sessions. Once you choose how long you want your session to last, give yourself into the hands of one of our talented massage therapists who will then determine with you, what to focus on and address during your session. Your therapist will totally customize your massage to your unique concerns and condition. You can even combine different massage styles in one session!

Swedish

This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.

Shiatsu

This is a Japanese form of physiotherapy. The technique looks beyond specific pressure points, incorporating other methods such as stretching, breathing and rotating for a more whole-body approach to restoring energy balance.

Deep Tissue

This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.

Sports

This is similar to Swedish massage, but it’s geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.

Lymphatic Drainage

This massage technique involves stimulating and increasing the lymph circulation, as well as clearing blockages with lymph nodes and vessels through out the whole body.

Reflexology

This is a form of pressure-point massage based on the fact that each part of the body’s organ and muscular function can be accessed and healed through specific nodes or reflexes in the hands and feet.
